Mixed Ages Class- (0-5yrs)

This FAMILY-STYLE class is for MIXED AGES. Families who have one or more children in the age range of 0-5 years old. 

Child development researchers have found that grouping together children of varying ages fosters natural, family-style learning. The hallmark of the Music Together^® program, our Mixed-age Class gives children the environment they need to grow musically while interacting both socially and musically with peers of different ages. Younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones; older children learn by leading younger ones; and adults are happy because their children can go to class together. And any of your child's caregivers—parents, grandparents, nannies—can share in the experience, both in class and at home. 

Music Together program: 

• $225 for first child, $160 sibling rate
• One caregiver per child, per class (unless approved by your teacher)
• 10 weeks of 45 minute interactive in-person classes with your beloved teacher.
• Illustrated take-home songbook and CD including a digital music download code that can be used to download the music to your free Hello Everybody App or your MusicTogether.com account
• Access to the NSMT Family Portal offering videos, downloadable music activities and colouring pages to go with each song collection
• Access to musical games and activities on the Music Together Family Zone at www.MusicTogether.com or the Hello Everybody App

Music Together in the Park

At Music Together® in the park, you’ll have access to the same high-quality music and movement curriculum loved by millions of families and teachers around the world! Your Music Together teacher will lead musical activities for the whole family to sing, play, move and jam along to. Even though we're outside, each class has been designed as an active music-making experience you and your little one to connect through music. Bring your blanket and your instruments to the park and let us lead you and your family through 45 minutes of singing, dancing, and jamming with your community.

Classes are appropriate for children under 5, but the entire family is welcome (and encouraged!) to participate in the musical fun. 

SUMMER Music Together in the park program: 

• $190 for first child, $130 per additional child
• 8 weeks of 45 minute interactive in-person classes with your beloved teacher.
• NEW music from the current songbook and CD including a digital music download code (inside your hardcover songbook) that can be used to download the music to your free Hello Everybody App or your MusicTogether.com account
• Access to the NSMT Family Portal offering videos, downloadable music activities and colouring pages to go with each song collection
• Access to musical games and activities on the Music Together Family Zone at www.MusicTogether.com or the Hello Everybody App

• Please note - Classes will be moved online to Zoom if weather forecast is calling for heavy rain. We will still meet (and splish-splash in our boots and jackets!) if the rain is expected to be light. You will be notified of class cancellations by 8am and your registration confirmation will include a "just in case" zoom link. 

WHAT TO BRING TO CLASS

• Instruments for you and your child to make some music with - something to CLICK (sticks), something to SHAKE (shakers), and something to SWISH (scarves). Home-made and other favourite play-along instruments are welcome! 
• A blanket to sit on - your blanket should be large enough to accommodate your entire family group!

PLEASE DO NOT

• Assume everyone is comfortable with physical interaction right away. If your child is wandering over to another family, check in with that family as to whether they are ok with sharing their space!
• Leave items around that children might be distracted by (phones, hats, water bottles). As much as possible, keep loose objects in a bag or stroller.

PLEASE DO

• Wash your hands or use the provided sanitizing station before the start of class.
• Place your blanket on an assigned spot and resist the urge to huddle around the teacher at the start of the class.
• Sit or stand with your child as necessary. If children start to wander away, please redirect them. Feel free to scoop them up and dance on your blanket at any time or walk away from the circle and sing from a distance if children need to move around.
• Wear a mask if it will make you feel more comfortable. We are leaving this decision up to each family.
• Come prepared for the weather! We will only cancel classes if the forecast calls for HEAVY rain - so bring your umbrellas and rainboots and be prepared to sing and dance even if it's sprinkling outside.

Holiday Jingle Jams

Bring you whole family and join us for a holiday sing-a-long!! We will be singing some Music Together favourites with some famous holiday songs mixed in! Come dressed in your favourite holiday attire and connect with other musical families.  

Entry is by donation! (recommended donation of $10, cash only)
